Arezzo Private Walking Tour

At the end of the XIV century Arezzo went under the domination of Florence and the Medici family, thus changing its direction in history.

Arezzo’s historic centre still shows several beautiful masterpieces of Italian art which are featured in my guided walking tours: its 1000-year-old Parish Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, its gothic Cathedral with a complex marble altar (Arca of Saint Donato, Arezzo’s protector), its medieval Dominican and Franciscan churches (the former houses a crucifix painted by a young Cimabue, the latter world famous frescoes by Piero della Francesca), numerous medieval palaces, Piazza Grande (the main square) with its tower houses that form the perfect scenery for the Antique Market (the oldest and most known in Italy that takes place on the first Sunday of each month) and for the Joust of the Saracen (on 3rd Saturday of June and 1st Sunday of September) – all this reminds us of Arezzo’s glorious history and culture.
